The One Thing that will Never Change
· v.1a -- Finally, my brothers, rejoice in the Lord.
· The constant need for self-exhortation
o Psalm 42:5 -- 5 Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation 6 and my God.
o Psalm 42:11 -- 11 Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.

The Christian Faith that Demands Great Discernment
· v.2 -- 2 Look out for the dogs, look out for the evildoers, look out for those who mutilate the flesh.
· Tim Challies – Discernment is the skill of understanding and applying God’s Word with the purpose of separating truth from error and right from wrong.
· Heb 5:14 -- 14 But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.
